A SINGULAR TERROIR
At an altitude of 900 meters, our mate grows in the heart of the biodiversity of the Santa Catarina region, in the great valley of the Iguaçu River, in Brazil.
The terroir , as with wine, has a majorinfluence on the final flavor of the mate. The minerals contained in the soil will give the final infusion more or less bitterness, length in the mouth or astringency.
This region has the particularity of developing a particularly balanced high quality mate, with vegetal and floral notes and a balanced bitterness .
TRADITIONAL ORGANIC FARMING
For over 100 years , our partner has been bringing his passion and know-how to life by cultivating a native yerba , renowned for its original taste and renowned for its sweetness.
The leaves of this organic yerba mate are harvested at maturity every 12 months. After harvesting, the mate dries naturally (without smoke) before being enjoyed fresh, or undergoing an additional step of refining or roasting .
