The Imperial Insulated brings together the look of traditional mate and the simplicity of a stainless steel interior.
An insulated interior, pure simplicity.
Its double-wall stainless steel interior insulates heat (and cold): your mate holds its temperature far longer. In summer, that same double wall keeps tereré properly iced — this is the one you reach for when the warm days arrive.
No curing, no waiting
Unlike a calabash gourd, it needs no curing at all: no overnight rest, no scraping, no painstaking drying. You rinse it, you fill it, you drink. Cleaning takes a moment.
The traditional look, no compromise
Dressed in hard-wearing cowhide leather — Black or Burgundy — it is crowned with a smooth stainless steel rim and set off by a chased band. Its four reinforced feet keep it perfectly stable.

AN EXCEPTIONAL NATURAL GOURD
THE SQUASH, THE ORIGIN OF THE GOURD
Our mate gourds are made from the sturdiest squashes, grown in southern Brazil.
These squashes are recognized as the best for gourd making thanks to their shape and thickness.
After harvest, the squash is emptied then dried for several months, to acquire the resilient properties of wood.
AT THE HEART OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
This is when our artisan, Cristian, begins his meticulous work.
By hand, he dresses the squash in leather and shapes feet to protect and stabilize it. He then crafts a made-to-measure band and chisels it by hand, before fitting it to the top of the mate gourd.
That's why our gourds are unique. Total production time, from the growth of the squash to leaving Cristian's workshop, is between 12 and 18 months.
